The brand-new 2017 Maserati Levante will enter the production in early 2016 and it will probably go on sale before the end of 2016. It will mostly rely on the Kubang Concept officially unveiled in 2011 but do not expect it to be a clone of the concept. It won’t be a capable off-roader like Jeep’s Grand Cherokee or the Land Rover Ranger Rover, because luxury and performance were at the very first place for Italians. Once Maserati’s brand-new Levante joins ever-growing SUV segment, it will outshine most of its siblings with its sleek and muscular style, powerful and various engine options, and absolutely perfect cabin. The Maserati Levante 2017 will be officially unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Let’s check what it brings to the table.
2017 Maserati Levante Exterior
The company initially planned for the Levante to be based on the same platform as the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but it turns out that this excellent SUV will have its own platform. It will actually be based on a redesigned version of the Ghibli’s and the Quattroporte’s platform. The Levante will be shorter, but wider than the Ghibli. The front end will be occupied by a hexagonal grille and slim headlights. the rear end is decorated with a pair of pretty large taillights.
Three are also large exhaust outlets that are arranged in a quad-pipe layout. The vehicle sports a subtle spoiler on the top of the tailgate which means that it will be a performer. Generally, the vehicle looks good. It is obvious that uses some of the cues of the Ghibli and the 2011 Kubang Concept. The company did a great job and perfectly combined several different styling cues to get a sleek and muscular SUV.
Maserati Levante 2017 Interior
The cabin of the newcomer will receive new layout which doesn’t mean that it won’t borrow some of the elements from its older brothers, like for example the Ghibli or even Quattroporte. We expect to see an upgraded version of the infotainment system with large touchscreen display.
Only premium materials like aluminum, carbon fiber, leather, and Alcantara will be incorporated to get a luxurious place that offers outstanding driving feel. There will also be a sporting steering wheel and an instrument cluster. The rear end of the vehicle might be a little cramped because of the sloping roof but the driver and front passenger will have ample of headroom and legroom space.
Maserati Levante Engine
Four different engine options will be offered to ensure power for the 2017 Maserati Levante. The first thing we would like to say is that there will be a hybrid variant but details are still not known.
Other than the hybrid engine, there will be a 3.0-liter V-6 making 404 horses and 406 pound feet of torque, a 3.0-liter V-6 diesel rated at 266 horses, and the range-topping 3.8-liter V-8 capable of producing 523 hp and 479 pound-feet of torque.
2017 Maserati Levante Release Date and Price
As we already said, the 2017 Maserati Levante will go on sale in 2016 as the 2017 model. The starting price could be around $80,000. Italians appreciate their labor, so it won’t be cheap.
