The Murano is one of those car who either makes you love it or hate it. Well, let’s just hope that the 2015 Nissan Murano Hybrid will make us love it thanks to its clever engine, unique looks and even the comfortable interior. Just like with the previous model, the 2015 one will still offer up to 5 very comfortable seats that will accommodate with ease 5 grown ups.

2015 Nissan Murano Hybrid Design

Its design hasn’t changed all that much since it was first introduced but it certainly became more masculine. The car now is longer, wider as well as a bit taller and the big wheel arches and bulky front and rear bumpers give it a really mean look. Changes over the previous car include a new front fascia with integrated headlights in the front grille as well as a new spoiler which is said to make less noise at high speeds.

New Nissan Murano Hybrid Engine

The surprise comes in the form of the 2015 Nissan Murano Hybrid engine. While most people though that the car will get a 2 liter aspirated engine with a pair of electric motors, it is actually going to receive the electric drivetrain from its close relative, the Pathfinder, meaning a 2.5 liter supercharged inline 4 and an electric motor which would make for a total power of nearly 250 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. The engine is smooth and quiet in operation and considering is nearly as powerful as the standard 3.7 liter V6, it is really a good upgrade from it.

Its only drawback is the fact that the hybrid drivetrain is only available with a CVT gearbox that is quite slow while changing gears. Its only advantage is the fact that it is available both with front wheel drive and all wheel drive.

2015 Murano Hybrid Interior

On the interior, the 2015 Nissan Murano Hybrid won’t be any different than the standard petrol powered car, meaning you will get commodities such as automatic climate control, automatic headlights and wipers as well as fully leather upholstery and an infotainment system with a seven inch screen as standard.

Nissan Murano 2015 Hybrid Price and Release Date

The Hybrid is the newest part of this car. While there isn’t too much information about it yet, we can still get a couple of things. Firstly, its price is going to be higher than the normal car, meaning it is most likely to start around the 35.000 dollars mark which is not that bad. The handling will also improve thanks to a set of batteries and electronics that are now housed under the floor, lowering the center of gravity of the car. The release date for the 2015 Nissan Murano hybrid hasn’t been made available to the public but it is most likely to be in the first quarter of 2015.
