The Frontier is one of the few compact pick-up trucks which manged to stay on the market after the initial storm. This was due to the fact that it was one of the best and because it was based on a Global model, Nissan managed to keep it afloat. The 2015 Nissan Frontier is going to be the best Frontier yet because it will feature a mix of old and new technology.
Unfortunately though, it is not going to be based on the new Navara which Nissan released a couple of months ago but it is going to be the old car which has received a few different upgrades. The new model is going to be cheaper, more economical as far as fuel consumption go and also it will receive a few new models which we’ll discuss later.
2015 Nissan Frontier Price
The base car is expected to come at under $ 17,000 which is a real steal when comparing it with its competitors. The V6 on the other hand will start at roughly $20,000. The release date for this new model is expected to be at the end of 2014.
Engine of 2015 Nissan Frontier
Engine wise, the same two old engines will be available with a few minor changes made to the intake system. The base 2.5 liter inline 4 will be good for up to 152 horsepower and 160 lb-ft of torque which is not a lot by any standards but it does the job done. This particular engine is available only with rear wheel drive and with a choice of either a 5 speed manual or a 5 speed automatic.
The other option is a more powerful 4 liter V6 which will offer up to 261 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque which is one of the best engine in its class even though the 18 average MPG is quite low. Thanks to this engine, the Frontier is able to tow more than 10.000 pounds with ease which is really nice for such a small car. This one is also available with Nissan’s four wheel drive system and with either a 6 speed manual or a different heavy-duty 5 speed automatic.
On the interior, the 2015 Nissan Frontier is really starting to show its age because the materials aren’t up on par with its competitors. Its design is also quite old and this shows especially in the back where there is very little room for passengers even in the car with the bigger cabin.
On the outside, the Frontier remained basically unchanged except for the PRO-4X which received a different front bumper, a new sunroof and also a different set of wheels with all terrain tires which were previously unavailable.
