The Altima is one of those cars that offer pretty much all you could want from a family saloon. There is comfort, performance as well as good fuel consumption wrapped in a pretty handsome package. And to top it all of, the car is also available as a two door coupe for those people who prefer it. The 2015 Nissan Altima is going to have an improved ride thanks to a new suspension system which now uses Sachs shock absorbers on an independent rear axle.

Other improvements will be made to the interior as well as to its exterior, the 2015 Nissan Altima offering more options and equipment than before. This is needed because its main competitors are now cheaper as well as better equipped than it. Price for the new Altima has been announced at $22,300 dollars for a base car and up to $35,000 dollars for a fully equipped one.

As we said before, its interior will get improvements mostly to the seats as well as to its quality. The seats now offer even better lateral support and are made out of a better material which cushions the bumps much better than before. The infotainment system also received an update with a new 7 inch IPS screen which has better viewing angles as well as better color reproduction. This is mated to a Bose audio surround sound system and to a satellite navigation provided by Google which is a real plus considering the maps are updated on a constant basis.

The exterior on the other hand will remain mostly unchanged. This doesn’t mean though that it doesn’t look good. The car resembles quite a lot with an Infiniti which is really nice at this price point. The only new things are a few options which include an automatic climate control system, automatic Xenon headlights as well as a rear view camera.

Engine of 2015 Nissan Altima

Engine wise, the 2015 Nissan Altima has two available options. The first one is also the less powerful one, a 2.5 liter aspirated inline 4 petrol engine which has been carried over from the previous generation. It is capable of putting out 175 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of torque. If you’d like more power then the 3.5 liter V6 might be the choice to have. This is capable of providing up to 270 horsepower and nearly 240 lb-ft of torque which should be more than enough for anyone.

The latter engine should be the one to have because it offers similar fuel consumption to the 2.5 liter as well as more power. Unfortunately though, the only available gearbox is a CVT unit which is coupled to the front wheels, so the car might suffer from under-steer under certain conditions.
