The P1 is one of the fastest car in the World and since release in the early 2013 it absolutely dominated its competitors. Well, this is no longer the case and they are trying to make it all happen again with the 2015 McLaren P1 which will be in essence the same car with minor improvements made especially to the chassis which became stronger than before as well as lighter, which should make the car handle better on the track as well as on normal roads.
2015 McLaren P1 Price and Release Date
Its price has always been unique, the car costing no less than 1 million dollars making it one of the most expensive cars in the World that are still in production. The release date for the new model hasn’t been announced yet but we expect it to go on sale in the early February of 2015.
The engine in the new 2015 McLaren P1 won’t be any different than that of the previous generation. This doesn’t mean though that it won’t be nothing short of amazing. It will use the same 3.8 liter twin turbocharged V8 coupled to a pair of electric motors for the front wheels for a total power of nearly 905 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to it the P1 is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 3 seconds and up to a top speed of more than 220 miles per hour. The acceleration from 0 to 120 MPH is done in less than 7 seconds which is faster than the Veyron.
The news come in the form of a GTR P1 which will have more power at nearly 1000 horsepower as well as more torque. It will also have a lower top speed at around 210 MPH but this will be due to the fact that the GTR will use fixed wings and ride height in order to be competitive on the track. The other differences is the DRS system which will allow for a small boost of speed in certain areas of the race track.
2015 McLaren P1 interior will be identical to that of the current generation meaning the driver will receive the basic instruments and not much more. There will be though a 9 inch screen for the satellite navigation that will be able to display information about the car as well as controlling the climate control and the infotainment system.
As far as the exterior goes, the 2015 McLaren P1 will look stunning. It will retain the active aerodynamic package of the previous generation, so the car will basically change its shape in order to be faster and meaner than the competitors. The only notable difference would be the addition of new color choices in the range but besides this, the car should be identical to the old model.
