The 2015 Hyundai Genesis is going to be a brand new car which is going to come in the US in two different forms, either as a coupe or as a 4 door sedan which means they will finally have a worthy competitor for the German saloon cars as well as for some new US models which are starting to take their share from the market. The new generation of the Genesis has been actually built from scratch in order to give out the best possible model out there and so, it features new engines, a much better chassis as well as a lighter body, all being possible thanks to the use of aluminum where it counts.
2015 Hyundai Genesis Price
There has been an announcement in which Hyundai said that they will release the Genesis on the market in the first quarter of 2015 at a price at which it will be hard to beat. Well, this just become available and as far as it seems, the base model will cost $38,000 which is quite a bit cheaper than similar cars while the top of the range model will start at $50,000 , but more on that later.
The 2015 Hyundai Genesis interior will be nothing but luxury and good looks. It has a dashboard inspired by that of the coupe, meaning it has a few sporty accents to it but it also features a lot of luxury. Standard features such as an automatic air conditioning system, a satellite navigation system which also doubles as an infotainment system, LTE on a few of their models as well as a premium cloth upholstery which at the buyers request can be changed in the favor of a fully leather upholstery for no extra charge makes from it something special. As you would expect from such a large car, interior space is enough for most people while the seating is better than even some more expensive cars.
2015 Hyundai Genesis exterior on the other hand is a bit of a hit and miss. Why? Well, firstly because there is no continuity in the lineup and secondly because it looks a bit like another car. The coupe and the sedan have a completely different front fascia which is a shame and the sedan reminds us a bit of a European car which was launched back in 2008, the A6. If you can get past these two small issues then it is a very good car, with a fast looking profile and a very nice back with the dual exhaust system. Also, the standard 18 inch wheels fit it like a glove.
2015 Hyundai Genesis Engine
Engine wise, the 2015 Hyundai Genesis will be offered with two different engines in the US. The base car comes with a 3.8 liter V6 which is good for 315 horsepower and 297 lb-ft of torque. It feels alive and it will give you a great time behind the wheels. Its only drawback is that it isn’t as powerful as it sounds or feels, so it might be a bit lacking sometimes. This engine is also available as a four wheel drive model, option which costs 3000 dollars and transforms this big four door luxury vehicle into a road hugging monster. The other engine option is a 5 liter V8, also called the Tau, which offers 425 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. This will power the Genesis from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 6 seconds and up to a limited top speed of 155 miles per hour. The bad side of it is that it is too quite, so it doesn’t actually feel all that fast, especially when compared to the V6.
Both of them will be available with an 8 speed automatic gearbox which also offers a manual mode and both of them will offer around 23 MPG on average which is not bad.
