The Everest is a crossover based on the Global Ford Ranger meaning it shares most of its engines as well as interior, which is not that bad considering the Ranger has increased in quality as well as comfort over the years. The 2015 Ford Everest is going to be a completely different car than the previous generation meaning all those bad traits of the inside will disappear. The new one will feature a new design which includes a larger overall car, higher ground clearance for better off-road use and an improved chassis that even though is similar to that of the Ranger will get its own tweaks in order to make the car more manageable while driving it.
2015 Ford Everest Price and Release Date
2015 Ford Everest Price will most likely hover around the $25,000 dollars mark for a base model which would finally allow it to compete with the new Santa Fe which has been a dominant presence for a couple of years already. The release date will be somewhere at the end of 2014 or early 2015 in order to coincide with the release of the facelifted Ranger.
Its interior will be mostly identical to that of the Ranger but there will be upgraded materials in order to account for the higher cost of the car. Leather will be offered as an option on all models while a 6.5 inch display for the audio system will be standard. Options will include electric front seats, a bigger 8 inch screen that also features satellite navigation and a dual zone automatic climate control system which was quite bad in the previous car.
The 2015 Ford Everest exterior on the other hand will be completely new. There won’t be any panels shared between it and the Ranger. The front will get a bigger grille with a different shape that uses chromed plastic for the material. The front bumper will now include a protective shield for the underpinnings of the car and also the two projectors for the fog lights. Its wheels will also be quite different than those found on the Ranger being more similar with some American models like the Navigator.
Engine and Performance
Engine wise, the 2015 Ford Everest will be most likely available with two different engines. There will be a 2.2 liter diesel with around 150 horsepower and 350 N*m that will also double as the base engine. The bigger option will be a 3.2 liter diesel with 210 horsepower and more than 470 N*m of torque which will serve as the top end model. There is also a high possibility for it to receive Ford’s brand new 2.7 liter EcoBoost for the North American market. This will give the driver around 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque which should be more than enough for it.
